Highest IRA CD Rates
Here is some info on where to find the highest IRA CD rates.
First, I would try www.bankrate.com if you are looking for federally insured bank IRA CD rates. The have interest rates for terms from 3-months to 5-years. They currently have a top 1-Year rate of 2.25% at Countrywide Bank. The minimum deposit is $2500. For a 5-year CD they have a 3.40% with Umbrella Bank. Umbrella bank is only rated with 1-star, however. Probably best to look for at least 3-stars when dealing with an IRA CD. You really don’t want the bank to close the account on you.
Next, just go to your favorite search engine and type “IRA CD Rates”. Numerous sites will be listed. The 3 or so sites directly at the top and then ones off to the right are paying for you to see them. The ones in between those have worked hard so that the search engines decide they are an authority site. Check some of both. It is your money, find the best rate.
Many brokerage firms offer CD rates that can be held under an IRA umbrella. However, wholesale funding levels are really low at this time, so the brokered IRA CD rates are quite low (like around 1.25% for 1-year), so direct rates are probably the best route to go at this point. There are CD Brokers that specialize in direct CD rates. I believe one is Jumbo CD Investments, Inc. and they come up pretty high in the search engines.
Always verify the bank you are considering is FDIC insured. For other CD rate sites, visit some of the links on the right or Jumbo CD Rates.
Good luck with your highest IRA CD rates search.
